Midnight Mysteries 4: Haunted Houdini - PC Game Review

Hello my fellow Bats
Today I will be reviewing a Hidden Object Game on the Platform Steam. It is called Midnight Mysteries 4: Haunted Houdini.

If you haven't read my Review about the first, second or third game then please click here to see the first game, here for the second one and here for the third game.

Midnight Mysteries 4: Haunted Houdini is a Casual Hidden Object Game Developed and Published by MumboJumbo. The Game is about the world famous illusionist Harry Houdini, which died 90 years ago. The Game was released on the 29th of March 2012. The Games native selling price on Steam is 9,99€. It comes with English Interface only and has Steam Achievements included. However no steam Trading Cards are available for this Title.

Everybody has at least once in their life heard about Harry Houdini, whether it was in Movie, in class or on the Internet. We know he was a great Illusionist / Magician that many people are still praising to this day. However I am not very familiar with Mr Houdini's Personal Life and Death. I did however enjoy the Game regardless. The Setting was once again compared to other Hidden Object Games grim, gray and Gothic like but yet still a bit more colourful and vibrant then the other 3 Titles in this Series.

The Title released on the exact same date as the second and third counterpart, but yet still looks better then the two of them. Just like the third game, it is also coming with the unmentioned Collectors Edition, meaning,  you will receive a Bonus Chapter and Unlimited Hidden Object Mode.

The Resolution of the Game can once again not be changed but is a lot higher then the previous Games. As in Number two and three you keep the newly introduced crafting system, which isn't sadly nearly as much used as it was in the third game.

The Story itself is nicely told and the animation is simple but not bad to look at. The Atmosphere was also rather good and although this game was a bit creepy it wasn't nearly as much as it was in second and third game, especially when it comes to the jump-scares.

I had a lot of troubles with the Puzzles in this game and they were rather annoyingly hard for me, which was more enjoyable in the previous titles. However thanks to an in-build Guide by the developers I could get passed those easily. I would off preferred it however if the difficulty would of been a little less, so I could off solved it myself.

If you are an Achievement Hunter then this game might be for you as the steam achievements seem to work, unlike the second title, correctly.

All in all this Game was a blast to play, besides the annoyingly difficult Puzzles that I got stuck on, I did enjoy it a lot just like the other Midnight Mysteries Games.

Due to the fact that the Game is only 4.8 Hours long I recommend getting it on Sale or in a Bundle. However if you are an Achievement Hunter you can pick it up now, as I am sure you will get your hours worth out of it.
This Game is Vampire Approved because of its Gothic Grim Atmosphere, art style and non native English user Friendly Interface.
